10 Acoustic Guitar Songs - The Songs That Taught Me To Play
These are my top 10 acoustic guitar songs that I learned as a beginner guitar player growing up. In this video I am sharing my top 10 list of acoustic songs that you may or may want to learn. These songs each taught me a valuable lesson about playing and have left a mark on me to this day and they range from easy to hard. Each of these 10 songs is great in their own rite but they are unique to my guitar journey. Everyones journey as a guitar player is different and there are many factors involved.     Personally I have never bought the story that it was Don Felder who came up with the tune. Sounds like a convenient way for the band to avoid a potential lawsuit. That the band previously opened for Tull is just way too much for it to be a coincidence in my books.

    I have been tinkering for many years. It gets boring not having anyone to play with... since all my buddys are either dead or quit playing. Ive been looking at loopers. Thanks for this. Im getting a cheap one off of temu. Its just a hobby at this point.

      He’s seems to just be wired in such a way that he can’t help it. All accounts about him seem to have one thing in common … that he is a “hard hat” as you put it. I mean I obviously don’t know the guy. Just wanted to warn people not to get themselves in trouble with covering his music. That is all I knew when I posted this. But I have learned much more from the comments here about Don

    My friend asked me to play her favorite hymns on the violin at her wedding. A lady comes up to me with a boom box, mid hymn mind you, and asks me to stop so she could play recorded, commercial pop music. Oh how i wish that i would have asked for $100 to stop.

    I played a gig introy new york in the eoghties they had a list of songs not to be played. Brown eyed girl was on the list as was Amie. I remember thinking oh crap.

    Don’t feel bad about the individual 6 saddle bridge thing. I think I read somewhere that Albert Lee had the same thoughts as you at some point when he played for the hot band and ultimately made the changes as well. So you’re in good company. Keep up the good work

    The first song I learned on guitar was Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovie, then went on to learn Friends in low places, Killing time and various other country songs by artists like Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Allan Jackson, and George Straight from the 90's. I used to walk down the street to a BBQ place on Thursday nights when I was 12 and play those country songs for 2 pulled pork sandwiches. I thought that was the life.

    My mum recently passed away but oh she did love when people came in to play music, even when her dementia got pretty bad. The Seekers, Peter Paul and Mary, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, and Neil Diamond were her faves all her life right to the end.

    You solved my loop dilemma . I used to miss my start position, you start your groove for a few strums first and then started loop after you got to the beginning of the strum riff. Thanks Frank !

    Oh man, can I relate to your story! Even though my progression was very different. I learned finger-picking rather early, I think it was in my second year, and that's when I met Werner Lämmerhirt, a fantastic guitarist (probably little known outside Germany). I just wanted to throw my guitar out of the window. I don't know what kept me trying, I was devastated at the time. Later I picked up an electric guitar and joined several bands who did rock, even though my heart wasn't really in it, being more some kind of singer-songwriter. That's long past, but boy did you send me on a journey! Thank you very much!

    Wow that’s terrible! Bought my D Jr about five years ago. I also bought the hard shell case. Only issue I have is the action has changed slightly. I’m not a gig player. I play it at least once a week. Actually, helped my granddaughter buy one and there are no issues with hers. Will keep an eye on mine for sure!

      You will probably be fine. I just have got a lemon. I am in the process now of trying to get Martin to fix it and I’m making a video … when it’s all said and done I will release the vid and we will find out how the story ends. Hopefully it doesn’t end in a campfire because this guit would not be worth the expense to fix at this point. Stay tuned and best of luck with yours.. but honestly you will prob be just fine
